    Fascinating 3-D effects

The four children (ages 4-8) that I took to see the movie were thoroughly entertained for the entire time by the effects. Yeah, the plot was a little fragmented, no great moral dilemmas or surprise endings, but it was fine for children.

A bonus was the educational value - the plot revolved around the first astronauts to land on the moon, and brought out a lot of questions regarding the space program and the lunar landing.

    Great family time.

    by arybal

I brought my 2 year old daughterto this movie the other day. She doesn't like to sit still very long, but she loved this movie! She sat down the whole time completely into the movie. Great story, the 3D was very fun. They would fly out right by you, it was very cool to see all the different thngs coming out of the screen.

Fly me to the moon, in 3D

    by Jadeth

Okay guys. Quick answer. If you're looking for a movie experience where things just don't stop jumping out at the screen.....NOT the movie I'd recommend.

If you want something cute and safe for kids with an edge of novelty, yeah, see it.

Basically, the plot was fine, but the 3D wasn't as good as I was hoping for. It was cute, however, and had some funny moments.

All in all (So-So) was my rating. Could have done better. Could have done worse. They kept it clean, which is always a plus for me.

    Fly Me To the Moon

Fantastic Histroy Lesson or my kids. It was like we were a "fly on the wall" when the Apollo went to the moon.

    NA

I went with my daughter she's 2 yrs and seven months. I'm still trying to get her use sitting through a whole movie so, I did not see the whole thing. What I did see was interesting but, I'm not really into the whole 3D exprerience.

Great 3-D effects. Movie just so-so

I thought the 3-D effects were terrific, but the movies itself was just ok. Still worth it for my 6 and 8 year olds.

Rated G with mild violence and fighting

Pretty good movie. Saw it in IMAX 3-D. Both my 4 1/2 year old and our 1 1/2 year old, sat through the entire movie.

Only problem is, nbear the end is a fight scene. Why do you have to put a fight scene in a G rated movie? Even the baby maggots were fighting. Very strange.

Other than that it was pretty good. It's not CARS or MONSTERS INC, but worth checking out.

    Fly Me to the Moon

This is a Must-See! It's one of the cutest movies we've seen in a long time! From the moment I laid eyes on those adorable 3D fly-lets I wanted some of my very own to take home! The 3D is absolutely awesome from start to finish!!! And the camera's perspective, often times just picking up and buzzing around like a "fly," adds to the fun of this film.

The story line is decent. The humor isn't stupid or crude. And there are clever bits such as Mom Fly raising her newborn bundles of joy: itty, bitty maggots. They're even cute!

The two things that are a bit problematic: the physical appearance of the humans. They're hideous-looking, android like things. Not quite sure what happened there. And the colors (which don't seem to cover the full spectrum) seem muted and hazy. Perhaps, this has something to do with creating 3D--don't know, not a film dudette.

In any case, its few problems don't outweigh this gem. It's an easy purchase on DVD.

Amazing animation! & a good plot for kids.

I took my 5 year old to see this movie. Normally, he "hates" movies because he is easily scared. He was reluctant to go, but halfway through the movie he said how great it was. For adults, the storyline is cute, but the animation is the main reason I was enthralled. The 3-D animation was like no other I had seen. Remember when Jaws came out in 3-D? This movie is a TRUE 3-D experience--one that both my son and I thoroughly enjoyed!

    Great story base....

    by denisio

I really enjoyed this movie. Overall it was worth the visit, but not the $2.50pp sur-charge for the 3D glasses Based on the actual first landing on the moon, I thought they did a great job on all aspects on the flight and landing. It also had a great music score. My 4 yr old daughter really enjoyed the views of the moon and I was glad that it did focus at least 5 minutes on the stillness of the moon. I thought the movie had a great education base.
What I didnt like - the main characters kept telling the chubby one that he needed to go on a diet. While they began the movie saying he should lose weight for [medical reasons] "obesity is not..." by the end, they were irritated because all he wanted to do was eat and they told kept telling him to go on a diet. In addition, being rated G, they made a direct villian in "The Russians" and even go to the point of having a knife fight - that was a little much.

Fly Me To The Moon ~ Cutsie & Cool!

Our whole family went to see this, including an 8 and a 10 year old. The storyline was OK although it was slow-moving in some places. The 3-D effects were good. I also thought that it provided an "in-their shoes" glimpse of what it was like to be the first astronauts to travel to the moon ~ that was an awesome experience!!
