I was expecting a good movie. I wasn't expecting a great movie. I have always liked Denzel Washington's performances; however, he is phenomenal in this. I also believe that this movie will also get Don Ceadle some more recognition. Not that he isn't known, but now everyone will know him. Great story. You'll buy the whole seat, but you'll only use the edge. Go See It!

Harrowing, thoughtful, excellent

This is a well crafted film worthy of attention by our often careless culture. And the trajectory of the life of the central character of this film, a pilot, is as harrowing as the plane crash that finally pushes him to rock bottom. I had to hide my eyes at times, not at the scary flight scenes but at the dooming choices this pilot was making or about to make. It's not quite what I expected, but it lifted me above the clouds. I wasn't expecting and I am still ruminating on aspects of this film and woke up thinking about it this morning. I have a suspicion that the audience I saw it with was not expecting to be confronted with a story about alcoholism and it's capriciousness and that we were all pushed into thinking about how our actions can affect others and their flight paths. See it.

Flight and Denial

The movie has a typical start than the drama begins and how would you react and what would you do? Leadership and fast thinking actions are required, mix in the idea of a man that has lost so much due to his own problems of denying he has a serious life threatening issue or habit or mental illness called alcoholism. Not confronting it and putting other human being lives in danger and how can one the clearly distinguish between mechanical default and the human error of an individual imparied by chemicals ingested in the body or both. But the direct effect of poor leadership choices and endangering the general public. this movie brought to light the need to understand the issues of alcoholism. The actors in the this film were exceptional and showed the role of government to investigate the outcomes of such problems.

Denzel continues to show his versatility as an actor. Quite a few story lines and subconscious messages in Flight. I'm ranking this as a GO! I'll definitely be adding this to the movie collection once available.
