When Good Actors Carry the Film

As a fan of Mads Mikkelsen, I had to see this film. It is based on a true story of two Danish men living during WW2. I won't give away much more than that except to say that it is in Danish and German, and that the actors did a better job than the editors/ cameramen did. There were times when I thought these speedy closeups were distracting and just outright inappropriate. Once you train your brain (halfway through the movie) you realize that the script, the plot, the actors and action carry this more than the technical aspects of the film. It's worth seeing, if you are lucky enough to see it because it was only in my area for about 2 weeks.

Great acting, riveting story, kept my interest/attention from the first minute. There aren't many movies about Denmark during the war, so that in itself was fascinating. That it was based on true story made it even more compelling.
