Wasn't the greatest war movie ever but it had it's moments. It's worth a watch.

Right there with Saving Private Ryan. Enjoyed the movie very much for its historical content and honest portrayal of the war in the Pacific. A must see!!!

Although the beach landing scene reminded me of "Saving Private Ryan", the movie was very good, although not for the squeemish. I had a hard time keeping track of who was who among the soldiers, and the scene shifts were sometimes a little confusing, but in spite of that, it was good.

It had some slow parts in the movie, but it was worst the admssion. I went away with a more clearer understanding of the sacrifice that was made during World War II. I think Clint Eastwood should get credit for making this movie at a time when were at war in Iraq fighting terrorism. He showed in the movie, how the media can misinterrupt what is really happening on the battlefield through the excelent performances given by Ryan Phillippe, Jesse Bradford, and Adam Beach. I'm glad that I put this movie in my top 15 favorite movies list because it deserved it for many reasons. One, although it wasn't like Saving Private Ryan, Clint Eastwood put a truthful spin to the realities of why these young men went into World War II like they did. Second, Clint Eastwood directed a classic that will someday be up there with other classic war movies like The Bridge On The River Kwai and Patton, to name a few. Check this movie out if you haven't because I think it is one of the best movies of the year.
