    PURELY REPULSIVE!

    I love boxing movies and I'm only 26 but this was pure TRASH. How the hell did this get such good reviews? Nothing but an incoherent attempt at a dramatic come-up story about a dumb junkie washed up boxer with your typical northeastern foul mouthed disgusting and stupid yenta mother who doesn't deserve to have children and clearly doesn't know how to raise them. Micky was a coward brother of Dicky who didn't stick up for himself when his obviously despicable family had everything but his success in mind. I think it just goes to show the kind of lousy heroes that youth of today look up to. If this family is the pride of Lowell its a place I never want to visit. Stay away from this movie unless you want to walk away with less brain cells and/or a lesson on how to talk like a filthy uneducated bum.
