Brilliant Film and Performances!!
"The Field" is adapted from John B. Keane's play of the same name...It is a film that I could (and have) watch over and over and over in the same day!!...Richard Harris received a Best Actor nomination in 1990 for his roll as The "Bull" McCabe, a man whom is just trying to make his way in the way he knows best...Many critics, the insufferable Roger Ebert included, denigrated Harris' performance in the film, saying it was too "over-the-top", and that he didn't deserve the Oscar nomination...Their negative opinions couldn't have been further from the truth...Harris is brilliant in the lead roll, as is the rest of the cast...The film SHOULD have been nominated for best picture, instead of others like the black comedy "Good Fellas" and the rascist piece of trash that actually WON that year, "Dances With Wolves"...Regardless, "The Field" is a masterpiece, and if you haven't seen it yet, GO TO AMAZON.COM IMMEDIATELY AND BUYTHE DVD TODAY!!
