In the 75 years since Superman made his debut on the cover of Action Comics #1, DC Comics' iconic hero has gone through quite a few costume changes. With Man of Steel flying into theaters this week, there's no better time to reflect on the evolution of Superman's wardrobe in comics, television, and movies. Here are 20 of the most memorable costumes worn by the Man of Steel.
I am a big fan of Superman and Nicolas Cage, but not Nicolas Cage AS Superman. Fantastic collection, brought back memories of my black and white days. Thank God we have color!!! My grand daughters are taking me to see Superman today for Fathers Day!!!!
Great collection. I'd still like to know if the black Smallville costume was a deliberate nod to the black "Death of Superman" costume. My start with Superman was the old George Reeves show.
Nice collection. Good to see the full breadth of the character incorporated to draw from. Just missing the Smallville Season 11 comics version of Superman. Retains a lot of the feel of the traditional suit but folds in the lack of trunks of the New 52 version. Best version of the trunkless Superman going right now.
You missed one ;)
All I can say is "THANK YOU!!!" for not letting Nick Cage take on the cape onscreen. I'm definitely a big fan of the Chris Reeve, Dean Cain, Tom Welling and Henry Cavill iterations of Superman.
The 'bots we'd befriend, and those we'd happily sell for parts.
Other Sandler-esque characters that should return to the big screen.
This summer these Hollywood stars are scorching up the silver screen!
Gru isn't nearly as unlikable as these animated baddies.
