    Better than the last...

The movie offered deep inside look on the heroes as they cope with super powered everyday life. It also shows unity amongst the 4 to overcome obstacles on a global scale. I highly reccomend anyone who wants to see what trying to live a normal life as an unmasked superhero is truly like...Give it a shot...you may be pleasantly surprised...

    Silver Surfer Awesome

    by bludwig

We went to see this movie on opening day and boy were we blown away. My son says that it's the best movie of the century. The language and innuendos are quite tame. We think it is a must see.

    Not True To The Surfer

(Spoilers) For those that don't know about the Surfers powers, here is a history lesson. He has the Power Cosmic, given to him by Galactus. This enables him to fly (by means of his board), gives him super strength ( he is as strong as Superman), shoot the the power cosmic from his fists and eyes (just as powerful as his physical strength), and has limited command over molecules (letting him pass through solid objects, and destroy and create simpler forms of life) and finally he can fly at nearly light speed ( yes, faster than Superman, the Flash etc...) and track a grain of sand across the universe. The movie has you beleiving that his power is located in his board. This is copletely false, The power is in him, yes he can be seperated from his board, but unlike in the movie nothing can stop it from returning to him when he summons it. And for those of you non beleivers, Wizard Magazine listed the strongest Heroes, Marvel & DC.[BLOCKED WEBSITE]

    Pretty Good Movie

Rise of the Silver surfer had a good meaning to it, and had something you could walk out of the theater knowing a lesson that could change your life. You might not see that when you watch a movie, but all people think movies are different. That is why they have fan reviews. If you really want to understand the movie you might as well see it for yourself. Two thumbs up for this movie. Remember... that's just my opinion.

I Want to Surf With the Silver Surfer

This is another great Fantastic Four brot to the BIG screen. Not only do the super beautiful Mr Fantastic and Ivisible Gal get married (as all proper super heroes should!), but they manage to turn evil for good (like DUH!). There is so much great action and fun and enough stories going on to keep all ages entertained. Ok, so we know from the get-go that the wayward comet is the Silver Surfer...no problem; and there's been enough trailer and lobby hype to know what he looks like...no problem; cuz we don't get the full impact of his absolute beauteous perfection until we see him on the BIG screen. WOW! He's truly lovely...too bad he...oops, don't want to give anything away. It's definitely a MUST SEE, and a real family film for a change.

    Overall . . OK movie

I'm upset that I didn't even see a glimpse of Galactus. And Dr. Doom was dealt with too easily in my opinion (I'm not even going to talk about how easily the Silver Surfer was knocked on his . . board). Some things I'm tired of seeing is excessive product placement in these types of movies, and Stan Lee cameos. He makes excellent comics but can't act to save his life ;-) In this case the sequel was much better than the first one, but I still claim that I only went to see it for the kids sake. Compared to all of the other Marvel 'comic book turned movies', I'd place it in the lower top ten.

    Awesome

Just saw the movie. It is awesome espeacially if you are an action fan. If your a true marvel fan you might be a bit diasppointed, but it is still good. Make sure you don't leave immediately after the movie is over there is more. Oh and watch for Stan Lee he makes another appearance.

Who Speaks for the Silver Surfer?

    by rktect

Having been a collector of F.F. and the Silver Surfer comics since the early 1970s when I was about 10 years old I had concerns about the movie when I read that it would only be 96 mins. There would be no way the complexity of Norin Radd could be covered in that limited amount of time.

As the Surfer said in the books, ?If I am the flicker surely he [Galatus] is the flame.? Sorry, but there is no way the story could have ended the way it did in the movie ? the Surfer overcoming the power of Galactus.

I understand the marketing pressures of Hollywood to appeal to the lowest common denominator. Perhaps the Surfer is way too deep for commercial mainstream audiences.

I want to support the ?A? for the effort of Stan & Marvel of even attempting to bring such a complicated character to the silver screen but disappointed with the execution. I give it a ?C.?

Perhaps in years to come Stan will do a 3-hour movie on the Origin of the Silver Surfer that will get at the real stuff.

From my 8 year old and 6 year old.

I had my babysitter take my boys to see the movie at the last minute and they came back with huge smiles on their faces. "Mommy it was awesome!" So there you have it!

FF4 characters Rise to the occasion!

At first I was skeptical. I had high hopes for this movie and we all know how comic book movies can be if done wrong. Well I wasn't let down. This movie was entertaining from the start. The movies humor was great and the plot well written. If you haven't seen it yet I recommend it if your looking for a lighthearted adventure.

A review, just by its' name, means you MUST SEE THE FILM FIRST. Hence, RE-view, get it? You people that must say "I am going to see this" are just idiots. I really don't care IF you intend to see the movie. The Order of Basic Criticism = #1 - See Movie. #2 - Review Movie.

    Ignorance is Bliss

If you are not a pre-existing fan of the silver surfer, then this movie should be great. Decent story line, great graphics, cool fight scenes and action, not to mention Mrs. Fantastic dropping jaws as usual. If you have been a silver surfer fan for years then this may prove to be a frustrating film, as it was for me. The story is similar to the fantastic four comics that first introduced the surfer, however some very large changes were made and for the life of me I can't imagine why. I absolutely recommend fans and non-fans to see this movie, but with the tattoo of the silver surfer on my leg I have to warn others that it is not as accurate to the comics as a fan would like.

    by lbcajun

Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer is a fun movie... a good movie..... just not a great one. FF2 falls somewhat short of the ellevated expectations that followed the first installment. In fact, "Short" seems to be the theme of the film: Short on action (good action sequences, just not enough of them), short on story, short on running time (less than 90 minutes), etc. etc. Of all, Jessica Alba shines bright. But the Silver Surfer was truly the brightest part of the movie and was begging for more screen time. Any more for the transcending herald in such a short film, however, would have religated the Fantastic Family to mere supporting players. It seems as if FF2 was almost designed to be shorter for theatrical release so that an expanded dvd version could capitalize on the thirst for more. If the true test of a film is to satisfy the audience's cravings for escapism while still leaving them wanting more, then the Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer is a true success.
