The Fantastic Fantasia

The wonder of such a creative film released on 11/13/1940 (just about 6 months before I was born) and yet it was spellbinding at times. Very enjoyable. Only one "dud" of the six or seven episodes. It did seem longer than 2 hours -- I think that is because the Deems Taylor talk was left in. It has often been deleted. Mr. Walt Disney was a true American Genius, except he has said that "it was not genius, but just persistent hard work and more hard work. Which is very evident on the screen. They don't make 'em like that anymore.

Really a theatre tribute....

I bought a ticket to see Disney's classic FANTASIA, one of the most unique and creatively influential movies of my youth...but what I got was a long tedious tribute to the Aero Theatre that made the movie start at 8:30, an hour after it was scheduled to begin. There was some interesting info in the intro by a Disney employee, but FANTASIA was not the focus of the night, as it should have been.
