As The Expendables 2 inches closer to beginning their autumn shoot in Bulgaria, Sylvester Stallone spoke with Entertainment Weekly about the expanding cast list and his showdown with Jean-Claude Van Damme. Stallone addresses the rumors of Nicolas Cage and John Travolta joining the cast. Does this movie need anymore stars or do we have enough famous faces?
As the sequel to Sylvester Stallone’s action-fest heads into production in a couple months, Millennium Entertainment is beginning the process of confirming which of the long list of rumored stars will actually be starring in Expendables 2. The often-rumored additions of Jean-Claude Van Damme, Chuck Norris and Scott Adkins have now been confirmed according to the cast list obtained by Moviehole.
Sylvester Stallone has made it known that he’s had an idea for a sequel to The Expendables for quite awhile now, even before the first one was released. And considering the fact that the ‘80s throwback action flick scored big at the box office ($275 million worldwide), you bet they’re already hard at work on part two. However, as the LA Times points out, Stallone has decided not to direct this time around.
Never one to back down from sequel talk (at least in these past few years), Sylvester Stallone is already talking up plans to make a sequel to his latest action flick, The Expendables, due out this weekend. Speaking to the LA Times, he says, "If this does perform, I think it will open a little more liquidity in funding the sequel"...
