Disney held back from entering into the fray at San Diego’s Comic-Con last month to showcase their upcoming features at their D23 Expo this past weekend. Their presentation was highlighted by The Avengers as well as sneak peeks at Pixar's Monsters University and Toy Story short as well as The Muppets movie clips. Did you attend D23? What were some of your favorite moments?
No one saw the winner of this past weekend’s box office coming, to the point that we didn’t even include the film in our Box Office Poll on Friday. Yup, The Help surprised everyone by beating out all of the new releases with $20.5 million, which was more than enough to take first place. So what’s up? How come no one went to the movies this weekend? You can answer that question in the comments, and if you did go to the movies then feel free to rate the films you saw
That's right! The kind folks over at Paramount/Dreamworks Animation have given us the exclusive motion poster premiere for Puss in Boots, opening in theaters on November 4th. This animated feline comedy stars the voice talent of Antonio Banderas as Puss along with Salma Hayek, Zach Galifianakis and Billy Bob Thornton.
In a week that saw Disney pull the plug (temporarily) on a tentpole blockbuster, the Scott Brothers go on a sequel/reboot rampage and Bradley Cooper ditch The Crow remake, a slew of trailers hit the ‘net and Mike Myers might be doing a fourth Austin Powers movie. Yeah, baby, YEAH! Let’s take a look back at the news, rumors, pics, videos, trailers and cast interviews for the third week in August.
Will the Apes rise up and claim box office victory one last time, or will they finally be defeated by Conan the Barbarian, a bunch of Spy Kids or a vampire played by Colin Farrell? Yup, you know what time it is – time to predict which film will win this weekend’s box office.

Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance looks like it used the bones of the first film to pick its teeth. There's so much texture here, so much grit and grime that was missing from Johnson's film (arguably the worst Marvel film to date). Take a look and let us know what you think.
Not to be outdone by his brother Ridley, whom Deadline revealed this morning would be returning to make another Blade Runner movie, Tony Scott is in talks to reboot two classic movies. What do you think? Are you up for a couple of classic movies to be rebooted by Tony Scott or do we need to draw a line and say enough is enough?
If sci-fi fans thought life couldn’t get any better when it was announced that Ridley Scott would return to the Alien franchise with his new film Prometheus, then today’s mega-news is something they’d better sit down to hear. Scott, who’s apparently feeling a bit nostalgic lately, has committed to producing and directing a new version of his film Blade Runner. What do you think?
It’s been a few years since we had a new Underworld flick (the last was Underworld: Rise of the Lycans – which was a prequel with Rhona Mitra taking over for Kate Beckinsale), but apparently someone out there still likes these movies, so here’s the first trailer for the latest installment, the imaginatively titled Underworld: Awakening.

The Alamo Drafthouse has quickly garnered a reputation as one of the greatest movie theaters in the history of mankind…or at least the history of movie theaters. With their signature events, ample food and drink selection, and strict no-talking policy, they make obsolete all tawdry multiplexes and completely redefine the movie-going experience. Here’s what they’re up to this week!
For Twihards who thought that the teaser poster for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn- Part 1 was, well, lacking characters, a new bit of Breaking Dawn artwork (not an official one-sheet, but should still be of interest to all you fans) should make up for that image's lack of vampires (and a werewolf).
If you’re a fan of Chinese cinema and like Sherlock Holmes, then Detective Dee and the Mystery of the Phantom Flame should be right up your moviewatching alley. Starring Andy Lau, Bingbing Li, Carina Lau and featuring stunning fight choreography from Hong Kong action star Sammo Hung, we're proud to present an exclusive first look at several production stills.
"Welcome to the party, pal."
"I am serious... and don't call me Shirley."
"When am I gonna learn how to punch?"

"You're gonna need a bigger boat."
"Jessica's got cable."
