It’s all about sequels these days, and if you thought Marvel would launch two new franchises this year (Thor and Captain America) without counting on continuing them with new adventures in the coming years, then you don’t know Marvel … or Hollywood. The Avengers will hit theaters in 2012, and Iron Man 3 is already in the works for 2013.
The full-length trailer for Captain America: The First Avenger has finally arrived online. Meanwhile, new names are starting to pop up now that Viggo Mortensen is no longer attached to Zack Snyder's Superman reboot. Also, check out this real-life Eye of Sauron!
The new heavily-anticipated Captain America trailer is set to unleash a whole batch of awesomeness on these here internets at some point tomorrow (and in theaters this weekend), but Entertainment Tonight premiered a good chunk of the trailer on their show last night, which you can now watch...
Oy! After Variety announced to the world that Joseph Gordon-Levitt was playing Alberto Falcone (aka The Holiday Killer) in The Dark Knight Rises, Entertainment Weekly has stepped forward claiming that news is false, according to their inside source. So what’s the real truth? Unfortunately no one knows at this point, though I’m leaning toward...

For those who still haven’t scoped out all of this year’s Super Bowl trailers, we here at Fandango made it real easy for you by sticking them all in one post and asking for you to vote for your favorite. One thing we haven’t talked about yet is the trailers we didn’t get to see during the Super Bowl. Which film would you have wanted to see a Super Bowl trailer for the most?
If you were one of the millions who watched this year’s Super Bowl, then you no doubt caught at least one of the many buzzed-about movie trailers that were spread throughout the night. From Captain America and Thor to Transformers, Cowboys and Aliens, there were enough big-budget extravaganzas to make us wish it were summer already.
Following the latest from Captain America, Paramount and Marvel have also sent out a brand new image from Thor, showing Chris Hemsworth in full-on Thor mode, all pissed off and whatnot, reading to shove that giant hammer down someone’s throat.
In the new issue of Entertainment Weekly, they premiere a whole bunch of photos from upcoming 2011 films, including The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn and Captain America: The First Avenger, among others. Ahead of the new teaser trailer (which should be arriving anytime now), a couple of new images from Captain America: The First Avenger have arrived online. The first is via a scan from SFX Magazine (via io9), and it features Hugo Weaving (as the villainous Johann Schmidt) holding the Cosmic Cube. Marvel fans know exactly what the Cosmic Cube is...
I started this post off as a "The Five," with intentions of predicting what the five most anticipated films of 2011 were. But then I thought, um, no. It's not about that. It's more about which films I'm personally looking forward to -- and which ones you're personally looking forward to -- then some imaginary list based off very early buzz. So that's what we're doing today.
As we continue to look ahead to the movies of 2011 (see our poll results on blockbusters and on-screen couples and sexiest actor and actress), we realized there are a bunch more superhero movies arriving in theaters over the next 12 months. From Marvel to DC to everything in between, you better get used to tight spandex and characters with emotional issues.
"Welcome to the party, pal."
"I am serious... and don't call me Shirley."
"When am I gonna learn how to punch?"
"These go to eleven."
"Benjamin, have you ever been severely beaten about the face & neck?"
"Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming."
"You're gonna need a bigger boat."
"Jessica's got cable."
