Suddenly, snails are the go-to mollusk on the movie screen. Aziz Ansari voices a snazzy snail in the backyard adventure Epic
(due in theaters on May 24). And in the latest full trailer for Turbo
, we meet a snail voiced by Ryan Reynolds
who makes a wish that he can be faster … then finds his life turned upside down when the wish comes true. The clip arrived online this week, and should be attached to The Croods
when that animated feature opens in theaters on March 22.
Here's the official UK trailer courtesy of MSN UK.
Under the catchphrase “Slo No Mo,” Turbo tells the story of a plucky snail who somehow picks up the ability to race at top speeds. (It’s all explained in the trailer.) Blessed with this new power, he takes his game to the IndyCar circuit, eventually competing at the top tracks and building a massive following.
But something has to happen that tears his whole world down, right? I’ve seen enough animated features to know that a bump in the road for young Turbo is inevitable.
Joining Reynolds in lending their voices to Turbo will be Paul Giamatti, Michael Pena, Luis Guzman and Bill Hader. David Soren directs the movie, which will be in theaters on July 19.
