'Rise of the Guardians' Unleashes New Character Posters

By: Derrick Deane on November 7, 2012 at 11:36AM Comments (8)

Though the trailers and commercials touting the upcoming DreamWorks Animation feature Rise of the Guardians haven't really built up the similar fervor of anticipation that Wreck-It Ralph did, early reviews from critics are positioning the film as a potential Disney-spoiler come Oscar time.

Featuring a voice cast that includes Alec Baldwin, Hugh Jackman, Jude Law, Isla Fisher and Chris Pine, the animated adaptation of the children books written by William Joyce arrives in theaters over Thanksgiving weekend.

New character posters were revealed today touting Santa (re-named North), Jack Frost, Tooth Fairy, Sandman and The Easter Bunny (re-named E. Aster Bunnymund).

Veteran storyboard artist Peter Ramsey makes his directorial debut with Guardians, but it remains to be seen how it will fare on opening weekend, going up against the likes of awards contenders Silver Linings Playbook and Life of Pi, not to mention the Red Dawn remake.

Check out the new posters below and sound off if you're interested in seeing this movie.
