Pixar Stars Get the 'Stamp' of Approval from the Post Office

Pixar Animation Studios has been entertaining audiences for decades, earning 23 Academy Awards and a grand total of $3 billion in box office. Those numbers are bound to go up once the studio’s latest, Brave, hits theaters on June 22. But it’s only just now that Pixar has received a literal stamp of approval.

The U.S. Postal Service has put 125 million stamps bearing likenesses of key Pixar characters into circulation as part of the company’s “Mail a Smile” program. Woody, Nemo, Sully and other beloved Pixar heroes could be seen in five new stamps, which recently were revealed at a dedication ceremony at Disney's Art of Animation Resort in Florida.

"These delightful stamps lift spirits and touch hearts and remind us that when it comes to connecting with loved ones, technology is no match for the mail," Jo Ann Feindt, Postal Service Southern Area vice president, said.

Well, that’s true. But we’re using technology to share the stamps with you.

Do you have a favorite? Would you like to see more Pixar characters on stamps? Who’s missing who should be showcased? My vote goes to Buzz Lightyear, one of my favorite all-time Pixar characters. Who wouldn’t want their envelopes to go “to infinity, and beyond?”

You can order these special Pixar stamps for a limited time at a local post office, online at usps.com/shop or by calling 800-STAMP-24.

A big congrates to PIXAR/DISNEY on their incrediable Classic animation movies, above: I definately will ask about them (and purchase) when going/visiting my U.S. Post Office area and such. I would had liked to seen one on Jack-Jack from the INCREDIABLES but the Pa & his big brother will do just fine...'also like the Monster w/the girl, and Nemo, and Toy Story "all" of them are great. Would like to see the movie CARS added to the US Stamp Collection list, too. Their beautiful, awesome!!!
