This version is so gory, the original version is more like a PG version now. No jerky humor in this one. If you are an Evil Dead fan or even a true gore fan, you must see this one. A couple of references from original movie during the movie and after the credits.

None of the same right notes that it's predecessor(s) struck to make it a cult classic, Fede Alvarez still manages to present a fine homage. Along with some great looks from Aaron Morton, Robert Gillies production design and the Makeup Department, this reboot delivers where Raimi wanted to in the very first.
Staying well clear of "remake", it's a rare reboot worth the money.

May be I was expecting more from watching the trailer, I thought this movie would be very scary, but it turned out a little on the stupid side. The whole movie mainly revolved around 5 people in a cabin in the middle of nowhere. So I can assume it's pretty low budget too. I don't hate the movie, but this is definitely not the kind of movie that I want to see it again.

Yes, it's overly bloody and gory, but that's what horror fans like. It makes you jump plenty of times and while it is a remake of the cult classic, it's far better than every other horror film that has come out in the past few years that claims to be original. Go check it out.
Definitely worth seeing in the theaters. In the middle of the day. So it's sunny when you get out.

The movie was so bad. I had to walk out about halfway through. Plot is to predictable. Acting was too much of 60's b movie. I would not recommend this movie to anyone. Save your money.
