We had a great time. It was just about everything you could hope for if you are a fan of the trilogy. All the characters were great, the ending took me by surprise even though some one had given it away to me. I'll have to get the DVD becasue I covered my eyes a few times! But fun fun fun, scary, scary, scary!

Remake is not short on gore or build up

Not for the faint at heart because no punches were pulled on taking the viewer on a bloody, gory roller coaster ride through this remake and update of Evil Dead. Nice nods throughout for fans of the first, but past experience not required to enjoy this for what it is.

I was hoping it would be a little more funny but honestly..I really want to see NEW movies, not all these remakes on great classics. Parents, don't take your kids to this movie...it can be disturbing. I sat next to an 11 year old girl and I just don't think it's right to show rated r movies to someone who hasn't at least gone through puberty yet because there are a lot of raunchy inappropriateness goings on in this movie as well.

I love this Evil Dead Trilogy and am so happy with how they went along with the original. The blood, the gore, and the chainsaw were perfection. The references from the first two brought together the subtle changes that often overpower remakes. I was surprised by the backstory, but it made the storyline make so much sense, and added a new twist to the intensity of it. I'm a horror movie buff and this actually had me on the edge of my seat. Seriously, go see this movie!

Evil Dead Remake Different but Okay,,,, Meh....

The new version with its own variety of horror missed the mark where campy yet horrific fun could have been inserted. Raimi's original early work was cult worthy, obviously. This rewrite changes the premise of a group of college kids out for a weekend of fun led by our would be hero Bruce Campbell, to a group of slightly boring well meaning friends who wish to rehab our new heroin heroine Jane Levy.0ne of the friends a know it all nurse discounts every ounce of pending evil, including the smell of dozen dead cats to withdrawal symptoms...really??? The comparison of how Bruce ends up one armed with a chainsaw from EVIL entering his body, to how Jane ends up one armed, made no sense in the new version. Neither did the use of the cabin by another family sometime between their last visit there and the timing of the new trip there for rehab. It did leave nagging questions that made no comprehensive sense. I found the original funnier yet scarier..The new rewrite does the fim no justice...
