Unimpressive remake!

I had such high hopes for this film. It was a huge disappointment. It was gory, but not scary like the original. The original is a must see for true horror fans. This one is not worth the cinema ticket price. Wait for dvd or streaming. It was claiming to be one of the scariest movies ever. The original is, but this remake is not. In my opinion The Hills Have Eyes, A Serbian Film, and Texas Chainsaw are much scarier. There is a difference in a gory film and a suspenseful or scary film. This film is gory. A Serbian Film and Texas Chainsaw are scary, suspenseful, and gory. If you have never seen the original this one might be scary.

I admit I'm a read movie buff especially horror movies. I can say I have not been happy with the crap that has been coming out of Hollywood the last few years but, this one was pretty good. It had my heart going(which is rare for me) and the special effect weren't over the top. The cons were, I thought the last few moments were a little too cliche. Directors still don't know how to end a movie. All in all it makes my list of must sees.

The movie is different from the original.yet has similarities. Seeing the original will not spoil this movie. If you're a fan of Evil Dead, you must see this movie. Also, there are a few surprises to be had. Enjoy!!

The Evil Dead - Not the Bruce Campbell Movie

I had high hopes for the latest incarnation of this movie. Really, I did. In today's age of "borrowing" ideas from the old to add to the new (*read as plagiarizing*), I entertained hopes this particular movie might present a new and innovative take on an old classic. I was at least partially wrong. The original movie incorporated an incredibly terrifying "flying camera" tactic that up until that point had never been utilized in a horror movie, and in that respect, the new movie did not disappoint. What did fail to meet my expectations was the almost immediacy in which the stars of this movie began getting killed off. There was no real build up of tension or feelings of "Oh my god, here comes something bad, but when will it strike?" that is expected of today's modern horror films. Ok, so maybe the Hitchcock school of film making has been so overused since the original ED was released that maybe I was hoping for a new concept on this old classic. Either way, this film failed to scare.
