    It wasn't great...

    by Sanjoro

but it wasn't bad it either. This story like the director and writers of the movie said, is a total different story from the t.v series. This means your not going to hear any references from the show in the movie besides the names of the characters and their looks.

The dubbing of the movie was like the movie wasn't bad wasn't great either. There were countless times I wanted to laugh out loud at the voices and dialogue but I (and those who have watched it) should have expected this.

I watched this in theater and I've got to say it sounded AMAZING. The fight scenes sounded explosive as they should have, and the music played along with the movie. I did have two complaints thought.
    1. High pitched voices too loud and high pitched.
    2. End Credit song

The action scenes were pretty solid too. No complaints.
    .
Nice way to spend 2 hours even if you don't know the t.v series's plot

    Watch? Anime watch it.
Don't watch anime? Don't watch it than.

Compressing 50+ episodes into a single movie event

Eureka Seven - Good Night, Sleep Tight, Young Lovers is a distillation of the 50+ episodes of the anime TV series into an ultra dense standard movie format event. The story moves very fast through basic elements of the anime, but doesn't back-up or really flesh out the scenario for those who have not seen the anime. Fan Service was minimal, which is not a bad thing given the story. Action moved almost too fast and the excellent animations of the anime are lost in the mash-up and haste of the production. Since this is essentially a love story between two young people, the speed of the story juxtaposed to the attempt at defining the romance was too fast, so that the actions at times appeared sappy, and probably lost anyone who hasn't seen the anime.

Core animation was OK, and the attempt to revive and maintain the Eureka Seven story is enough to justify actually getting the newly repackaged anime series to see the real thing.

It wasn't a waste of evening, just a bit fast.

worth seeing, just understand it's not a sequel or a conclusion

If you like anime, and the products that normally come out of Bones, go see it. If you liked Eureka Seven the series, see it. Just don't go into this movie expecting it to complete all of the story lines from the series. It takes place in a parallel world. It is described as a re-imagining of the E7 universe. If you are a fan of Eureka seven, and you go in understanding that, it is definitely a movie worth seeing. It was a good two hour look into another direction that could have been taken with the characters, technology and philosophy from the series.
