    Entertaining FAMILY movie

Reviewers who don't have children or who had chidren 50 years ago have no business writing a review for a movie made for kids. This movie was entertaining for both my children and for my husband and I . We are both college educated and we got all the references inserted for adults and laughed A LOT throughout the movie. Our kids (ages 5 & 7) really liked it. The animation was good, the story line was cute, there was some suspense and of course there was a happy ending...everything a child likes in a movie. Yes, the story was a little predictable but this movie wasn't created for cynical teenagers, young adults or older adults....it was made for KIDS!!!! This is a great entertaining family and I recommend it for families with kids 4-12.

    Great fun of a movie

    by nobleln

Took my girls to go see it, 7 and 11, and they both enjoyed it immensly. Had no idea Shatner was the evil guy, but loved watching this movie for our daddy daughter date. Would watch it again, even purchase to watch all over again other times.

    Good inoffensive kids movie

This movie was great for an afternoon of distraction. My 9 year old rated it a 9/10 and said she thought it was really funny, my 4 year old rated it a 7/10. It has enough adult humor to make it watchable without wanting the poke your eyes out. All in all, not bad!

A very good movie for children

    by Thor253

DreamWorks is creating a very tough competition for Disney with fresh ideas and stories. This is a must see movie if you have kids and if you are a kid at heart. Don't delay it anymore and go!

    Wonderful film!

    by snh2498

My son is 5 and he loved this movie. It has funny jokes that the parents will find entertaining and the pace is fast enough to keep even the most adventurous child entertained. Definitely recommend!

    Good movie

When I saw this, the theater was packed. I wasn't expecting much being that this is a February release, but it turned out to be really good. The story was interesting and not too cliche. All of the kids in the theater were laughing their heads off. My daughter (7) really liked the movie. Since this is the only kid-friendly movie out there, it's a good choice for families.

A nice and funny movie for kids and parents

Some of the critics suggest the movie appeals to kids and that's it. While my kid did love it (3 and 1/2), my wife and I also thought the movie was enjoyable. There were plenty of references to UFO lore and sci-fi movies, the story maintained a nice pace without too much violence, and the voice talents were strong.

    Good afternoon distraction

It wasn't the best movie but it served its purpose of getting the kids out of the house and treating them to a movie. I could have waited for this one to come out on video though.

    Great and Enjoyable movie

This movie started out a little slow, and at first I was thinking - Great, this is another kids movie that with a poor plot and quickly brought to theaters to make money. Not the case at all. After the first 15 minutes or so, the plot really came out and My 5 year old was completely captivated - sometimes he was laughing so hard, he was shaking. I really enjoyed this.

    Mom of 2

    by

Both my kids loved it..I have a 5yr old son who loved the action parts and it was great because it got him thinking about science related questions. My 3yr old daughte loved it as well she giggled quite a bit and was in no way afraid of the characters. As and adult it was a very entertaining moving and i would definately buy it so that we could have a copy at home!

    Fun for kids

    by

I took my 2 boys and their friends, ages 5-8. They all had fun. I heard their little giggles and some outbursts of laughter throughout. They had a great time, and I thought it was cute too. Not Oscar-winning, but a good option for a Sunday afternoon!

    Make it a Matinee

Seeing that this is a March Animated release, you should be expecting a mediocre movie. This is exactly that. It was slow at points, lacked witty banter, and Brenden Fraser what as pompous as voice over as he in real life. The story has a cute premise, but dragged in several places. There is no bad language, no sexual innuendo's, but the aliens do kiss at the end. (if you care about that)
My two boys liked it, but they both agreed that "other alien movies" were much better. This is a movie for a matinee or wait for DVD. Or even wait longer to watch it free on TV.

    Not the greatest movie

    by

It was ok, there were a few funny scenes. It is Monday now and honestly, I can't even remember the story plot if that will tell you anything.

    It was not that great.
