3D Not that Great

Ive heard good reviews about the spectacular visuals of this movie but now I assume those references were not taken in 3D. If you want to see this movie just do it without 3D. My daughter (8) really enjoyed it. I laughed a couple of times and can't really complain about it.

I would recommend this movie for you and your whole family. The humor is young enough for first graders and grown up enough for adults. I saw this with my family who are between 6 and 50 years old. Everyone enjoyed it. If your child is a little sensitive, I would suggest the 2D version instead as it can be a bit intense for the little ones, but only briefly. Great fun! Go see it today. Don't wait for the DVD. You really want to see this one on the big screen!

My wife and I took our eight year-old twins to see Epic 3D on Memorial day and for me it was marginal for a Pixar big budget movie. However, we went because of our kids wanting to see it and they laughed a couple of times, but weren't as engaged in this movie as they had been with other movies in the past.

Not "Epic," but decent enough. Kid's movie

In a nutshell, this is a movie designed to mesmerize children while the adults can nod off. The animation and 3D effects work together well, while every other aspect of the film is decent-to-average. Chris Wedge spun a nice yarn and the story was fulfilling. The voices were well-suited to their characters, the best was from Aziz Ansari. This is strictly a movie for children. Adults may find this a decent babysitting movie to kill time. It isn't bad, but doesn't live up to its name.

This was definitely worth seeing in 3D. Our family enjoyed it. With too few kids movies out there we risked it taking our 4 year old gal who enjoyed it. Some scary parts for a 4 year old... some characters get axed. Better for older kids.
