The first half hour of the movie was very slow and the rest was good. The 3D effects were not so good. My partner and I hardly tell it was 3D and this was a let down. The story line was good. Over all, it was good. But paying extra for the 3D version is a waste of money.

It was one of the best 3D movies ever. You must see it. There was a little girl in the theater who was really into the movie.it was so cute.

The acting was mediocre, at best. Beyonce might be the worst voiceover actor to ever walk the planet. I thought she was hard to listen to in real life, this took her murder of the English language to a whole new level. Maybe she can lip sync her part next time?
The story took too long to develop.
The animation was great, very sharp and clever.
3D was overdone, but its overdone in every movie.
I thought the Colin Farrell character was the most compelling, and you see him the least.
Good way to kill time with the kids, they really liked it, but I would avoid future movies with any of these cast members in the future.

I am not sure it is a kids movie, think it is a bit too serious and hard to follow. I dont think my 7 year old neice really followed it enough to enjoy it. It was good enough though...

This is a really great movie. The voice acting is very well done, the animation is extremely good, and the story is very well-adapted to this style of telling. We laughed, we cried, we jumped, we got caught up in the flow of it all. The 3D effects were very well done. If it were just the movie I was rating, I'd give it the top rating, but there's a problem.
The problem is, you're going to be in a theater full of kids. Your seat will get kicked. Your seat will get grabbed and shaken. Some little brat will HAVE to put their fingers in front of the projector. A significant portion of them will arrive with their parents several minutes into the feature film itself (after 15 minutes of previews) and have to crowd around you when there are TONS of open seats elsewhere. When they leave it will look like a pack of dogs at play tore through a popcorn machine without stopping to eat.
Anyway, you get the idea. Go to a late show, like the one that starts around 11:30 PM. I sure wish I had.
