sridevi rocks..

simple story but will touch your heart all the way through..
You cant miss it for a heartfelt performance by sridevi and the rest of the cast does a great job as well.. Amit trivedi's music complements the storyline. gauri Shinde has done a great job with the script and the movie has some very memorable one liners...

A very well made family movie that you can watch with the entire family ... Sridevi is back with a perfect comeback vehicle that shows her acting prowess. English Vinglish is a must see...

A motivational movie for the homemakers

Very good to see Sridevi after a very long time since she left Tamil cinema for Bollywood. Good that the movie has been released in Tamil simultaneously

Any one who likes Sri Devi needs to go and check this movie out. And also any one who loves movies will really like it tooo ! She is definitely back. Good Decent movie

I watched this movie and really liked it.. it was a very decent story with a message.. somewhere somehow i was able to relate characters in this movie to the people near us. All in all a good family movie which you can watch with the whole family.

A heartwarming simple story of a conventional house wife and mother from India who must learn English in a foreign land and discover self-confidence, self love and respect. Convincing characterizations, good screenplay, music and direction. There couldn't have been a better comeback film for Sridevi, who carries the whole film on her own. She is a treat to watch, makes you laugh, cry and at the end of the film, makes you realize that you may be seeking the whole world, to be accepted, loved and respected, but all you need to do is, seek the answer with in you. The universe lays not outside but inside you.

Great Movie!

Gauri Shinde has done a stunning job in her directional debut movie. The movie is nicely paced and very well directed. Everyone has acted very well. The English tution humor based on "mind your language" plot is also very nice, and over done. And last but not the least, Sridevi is looking gorgeous. Nice refreshing movie overall. Must watch!

Funny & entertaining

English vinglish... Fantastic entertainment, great laughs & a good message. Sri Devi played an excellent role of a quint-essential determined Indian woman in the character of Mrs Godbole from aamchi "Pune". Many depictions in the movie represent reality and true characterization of life in the US. Must see, expect house full for sure!

I really enjoyed the movie and I felt sridevi looks amazing given her age. she exuded a lot of charisma and she played her character to the fullest. the songs are nice and laden with melody and the tunes are catchy. the one thing i really liked about it is the fact that it was not shot like a typical bollywood movie but was portrayed more realistic. the general plot of the movie is how sridevi who does not know english, manages in america and how she goes about creating a niche for herself. the role played by the supporting actors are also worth mentioning and that played by her children deserves special mention. on the whole the movie is good food :)

Really Nice movie ... Its a simple concept ... But they have potrayed an Indian housewife and the family's behaviour towards her very well . Sridevi has done an awesome job ... Every expression suits the situation and shows how an Indian woman deeply feels, her silence, patience, her love nd care towards her family, feeling of being not appreciated for anything she does ... Love the movie...Gowri, its an awesome script ... I think its time for Indian families to change their views about house wives

This movie s a contemporary classic and a must watch for a multicultural world seeking to redefine identities. The director, producer, actors, supporting staff all need to be lauded for their reflective efforts to come up with their creative bits for a movie whose time has come.
Although the movie is presented as a light hearted comedy, Gauri Shinde and Sridevi have done a stellar job in revisiting human imperfections and nudging the human race to rise above themselves by becoming more sensitive to each other's feelings. How can anyone not enjoy and learn from this beautiful and nuanced movie about human relationships?

English-Vinglish... Sridevi-Freedevi... sooper-dooper...

There are quite a few movie which show normal people trying & coming over their disadvantages or weaknesses and passing out with flying colors. Sridevi does an excellent work in what a normal person can achieve if puts her/his heart to it, also stating expectations of parent from their kids in life. All parent expect is respect...

Gauri Shinde, one amazing offering.... keep it up, amazing writing, direction. Cinematography by Laxman Utekar is wonderful.

English Vinglish, helps you connect with yourself in day-to-day life and the people you come across. Also, never underestimate anyone, people are capable of achieving amazing things and amaze you.

Refreshing the Past

This the movie for those who came in theUSA and did not know to speak english.
This movie refreshed my memory when i came in here with my family and have difficulty in communicating with other.
Specially the scene where Sridevi tries to order something to eat at coffee shop and didn't know how to order.
Over all i LOOOOOOOOOOOVEEEEEE the movie

To all " NON INDIANS"

I just wanted to say "YES" it's ok to go watch an Indian movies, afterall they have English subtitle. I would suggested the two that's playing right now. English Venglish and Student of the year. So give it a try. Two great movies. Must see.

Refreshingly different!

A really nice paced fun movie. Very good acting by Sri Devi as well as Laurent (the Frenchman). The duration was perfect without a feel of stretching it.
