The filming is all done with hand held cameras. It was made like a ride along with cops. It would have been okay if only some of the filming was done that way but it was over the top.
The movie would jump from scene to scene with no transition what-so-ever. It was somewhat confusing.
The plot I could live with. The filming was enough to upset your stomach.

End of Watch was my favorite movie of 2012. I'm surprised it didn't get more hype than it did.
In short, it's about two hot shot LAPD officers, who could do no wrong, but find themselves in over their heads when they mess with the wrong gang.
If you liked Training Day, you'll love End of Watch -- it's actually written and directed by the dude who wrote Tarining Day.
The acting is great, the chemistry between characters is authentic, it was nicely shot, the soundtrack is good, and the plot will have you on the edge of your seat for the full 2 hours.
It's a story that will have you thinking for a couple days. It almost gives you an appreciation for what it must be like being a cop in LA.
End of Watch has all the action that action fans will want, and also has the plot and acting to back it up.
It's a great movie. See it!

My first time rating. This movie is XCELLENT! Please go. Suspense, action, crime, tears, laughter. Rated R. lots of profanity. If you can't handle, don't go. 5 stars PLUS, PLUS...

Great movie with lots of action only a few scenes that would give you pause if taking your kids the rating is on point, lots of cursing.

This movie was great. However, I thought the ending was a little abrupt. Jake Gyllenhal's character promised to look after Micheal Pena's character's family if something were to happen to him, This movie just ends at the memorial. It could flash forward to the two families intertwining. As for the language, well, what do you expect from thugs? The kid with the swear jar would have made out like a bandit though!:) Photography was a little shaky at times.
