Excellent Movie. Not as good as the book, but does a good job of keeping the entire story intact. Battle room scenes are amazing! Stands on its own as a great sci-fi movie.

I thought the movie was excellent on all lelves. The special effects are absolutely awesome. Way better than I expected. NBOw these are space ships. (liek I haev never seen). Well acted, thoughtful indeed and you see a lot more of Harrison Ford in this than I thought. And wait until you see the... gun... Talk about "Lock, Stock and Two Smoken Barrels" (The name of another film long ago) ... wait until you see these .

Rushed production sucks life out of characters. Wasted opportunity.

In an apparent attempt to meet some standard Hollywood formula, the producers rushed the story to the point where even people who haven't read the book felt it sucked the life out of the characters. Ender's Game is a character play with a cool future/space plot line, not a space adventure/action flick. The latter is how the producers chose to spin the story. The story would have been far better served by extending the movie another 30 minutes to capture the emotional ride... this is a story that can easily hold audience attention for 2:30, instead of the 1:54 it was given. Wasted opportunity to put a new Sci Fi landmark on screen.

lack of character development

If you can get over the fact that your beloved 6 year-old Ender is played by a young adult, and if you already understand the characters from reading the book, it's pretty good. The battle room scenes are fantastic, I'm just pretty upset that you never learn to love Ender from how they portrayed him in the movie.

hard book to make into a movie

Ender's Game is one of those books so rich in detail and sub-plots that it would be hard for me be satisfied with a screen adaption of it.
