This movie has no flaws. Everything you want in a great sic-fi and more. It had some of the best futuristic scenes I have ever saw in a movie. The story was great, graphics were awesome, and really fit the 21st century theme. Don't be hesitant, if your a sci buff, this is hands down one of the best ever.

Movie was very interesting . Good plot, special effects and action. I thought Matt Damon carried it off very well. A little more in character development would have been more appealing although you got the general idea of how the movie would play out.
Although you saw more the same African project dwellings that we saw in District 9, still would call the movie a go. Good Sci-Fi entertainment with a futuristic theme.

As with any science fiction movie, the special effects are always front and center. Elysium was not different, with spectacular vistas on the space station, and the feeling of disease and squalor on Earth. However, when one considers that this was the director's follow up to the excellent District 9, I was not surprised at the similarity.
However, in all honesty this movie left me disappointed. There was little character development, and the acting appeared staid and, I'm sorry to say, wooden. That said, Sharlto Copley was excellent as the mercenary Kruger.
I wold not say that it was a waste of time, it was certainly enjoyable and worth the admission. It never seemed to get going, and had the most predictable of predictable endings.

I was GEEKED to see this movie and all-in-all it was a pretty good movie. You should really see it! I believe the villain is the same guy from District 9 and, chances are, if you liked that movie, you'll like Elysium. I wasn't totally impressed with the villain here cuz there are a few corny lines but there's also a few chuckles... like I said, all-in-all I say go see it. You won't be disappointed with this one.

The premise is great. Not new - it's the same as Metropolis - but with a nice modern twist.
Neil Blomkamp has already proven himself in re-inventig a rusty desperate future.
But apart of that is a generic story with no real surprises. I got quickly bored of Max (Damon) and Kruger (the main villain) beating each other.
The script is full of hole, inconsistencies and non sense. I felt plenty of opportunities to make great Sci-Fi they were all missed.
