Enjoyed the movie for what it was but after it was all said and done, I didn't really care what happened to the characters. Also probably one of Jodie Foster's weakest roles.

I thought the movie was very good. Action packed but also emotional. Overall the graphics were great and the IMAX experience made it better. I'm really glad they didn't do IMAX 3D because I enjoy regular IMAX better.

Excellent action adventure movie, thought-provoking view on the future, but a very predictable plot. If for no other reason, see it for the special effects in IMAX!

...still worth the trip to an IMAX. It is visually awesome, from the slums to Elysium itself. I've never seen Jodie Foster play a straight-up bad guy before. It was a revelation. She gets my vote for Cruella in the next live-action 101 Dalmations remake.

Cool concept here, but most of the movie was spent building a plot that was easily predicted in the first 5 minutes of the movie. The rest of the time was just watching everything happen exactly as planned.
Most of the film was shot in the slums, and the cool visuals were only a few minutes long combined.
Lastly, the whole poor people rebelling over the rich is getting a bit too played out in Hollywood right now. We get it, us 99% generate most of the movie tickets sales, so you are supposed to play to our anger towards the system. "Workers of the world, Unite!" Since when did Hollywood become communist? Do we really expect an over populated planet to all get citizenship on space station?
Why did they install a metal jacket into his spine over his t-shirt? Matt Damon was okay, but he should pick better films. Could have had a B-lister for this role and saved some money.
