    What is there to say....

I felt robbed by not going to see this film come to life on the big screen. Instead I opted to wait for DVD; I purchased it (of course, love the genre) and eagerly took it home to watch. I was once again floored and amazed by Cate Blanchett. Words can not express the life that she poured into this character. Her words are like iron, firm and strong, yet they are also waiting to hear the same determined tone from another. Love continues to evade her, even as she herself chooses this direction for her life. The cast of characters, having changed some from the first, are as memorable and talented as the Queen herself. Between the story, unique and extraordinary costuming, and strong performances, this movie, though nominated and not winning, should have had won Cate an Oscar. She is most definitely the Queen of England - in her own way; an extraordinarily talented individual!!!

    Elizabeth

It was a good movie, I haven't seen the first one and I don't know anything about her, so it was interesting.

    Very good for a follow-up

Not as terrific as the first Elizabeth, but Cate Blanchett was beautiful as were the costumes. Script not as good and Clive Owen makes me gag. Worth seeing for the dresses alone.

    A must see.

If you saw the first movie then you must see this one. CB was born to play this part. She is as strong in this role as a hundred year oak tree is in a storm. The movie is fun, exciting and down right entertaining. CB owns The Golden Age.

    Elizabeth

This was a great movie. I took my mother-in-law for her birthday and she absolutely loved it. If you are a history buff or just enjoy things from this period, I encourage you to go ! Might want to read up on Mary Queen of Scotts fist.......

    Beutifully made

Although this movie lacks in the historic details, it definitely doesn't lack in the amount of some pretty intense scenes and absolutely gorgeous costumes. Nicely built on the previous one, this is a great movie to see if you are not looking for a thrill but rather are amuzed by drama of the events of that time.

    Historical Drama-It is neither

An ill conceived, poorly scripted, tragically executed, discombobulated farce without wit, humor or accuracy. The 'Drama' was created only by anticipating how many crescendos the overpowering score might utilize. Masterpiece Theatre has nothing to worry about with this disaster.

A personal look at royalty struggling with the world after the Renaissance

An intriguing look at Elizabeth's struggles to come to grips with a changing world. As with many complex, historical events it doesn't always make the tidiest cinema. The movie's flow struggles along with Elizabeth as she tries to balance her personal feelings, her beliefs and the monumental events of 16th century politics. Overall it succeeds. The production values are phenomenal. Both the costumes and the settings are worth the price of admission.
