This documentary was made to celebrate the 111th anniversary of a Dutch literary magazine, Groen Amsterdammer, which is as celebrated as it is little read. Rather than focusing on a dry recitation of statistics and stock footage from the city's past, the filmmaker instead interviews the readers of the magazine, who prove to be intellectual, thoughtful, and indecisive in many ways. These are definitely not decisive, action-oriented people. So much is this the case, that by the time the filmmaker introduces the character of Hamlet into this story, it seems entirely reasonable. Despite its for-the-Dutch-only theme (and language), this was reportedly a highly amusing and entertaining documentary. ~ Clarke Fountain, Rovi
