Ridiculous plot, but exceptional execution!

If you stop and think about this plot at any point during the movie, it quickly becomes the dumbest idea imaginable. BUT, the tone, sound, special effects, and shockingly enough, the acting, actually make it worthwhile and an awesome IMAX 3D experience! Who knew Groundhog Day meets Pacific Rim meets Elysium would actually make an entertaining film??

I haven't seen a movie as good as this one since Captain America : The Winter Soldier. The movie was lined with some gag scenes, and a very sizing storyline. Loved it. The end could have been better. But I have no issues.

Oh, to watch Tom Cruise die over and over is like eating your favorite ice cream on a hot day!

To think that this movie, based on a Japanese Comic could be so enthralling, engaging, funny and fulfilling is an under statement. Tom Cruise is as usual at the top of his game though this time almost playing against character at the beginning of the movie by not acting as the hero! Instead, going towards the wrong side of the war and dying multiple times in very funny ways. Surprisingly enough (simply because she's never done an action heroine before), it's Emily Blunt who comes out on top delivering an extremely entertaining and ultimately very satisfying tough as nails character. Don't be surprised if over the next few years you see her in more action movies. Her character seems to be taking the mantle from Sigourney Weaver's "Ripley" from the Alien franchise or Angelina Jolie's characters "Lara Croft" from the "Tomb Raider" movies and "Fox" from the "Wanted" movie. The "bad guys" if you could call them that are not fully fleshed out but they are never the less, impressive.
