How often do you get a chance to go back to the theater to watch two classic movies followed by the premiere of the final installment? Not often enough!
I missed Shaun of the Dead in theaters the first time around, so getting a chance to watch on the big screen was worth the price of admission. Hot Fuzz was, of course, an amazingly hilarious thrill ride. The World's End was a great conclusion to the trilogy and made for an excellent end to the evening.
Hot Fuzz was my favorite of the three films, followed by Shaun of the Dead and ending with The World's End. Still, seeing this trilogy in one sitting together with MY crew was simply an enjoyable and memorable movie-going experience.

It wasn't until halfway through the second film, Hot Fuzz, that I finally understood a Cornetto is a pre-packaged ice cream cone.
This trilogy is not really a trilogy in the true sense, because the Cornetto is not enough to tie them together. Of course, you have the wacky action of Zombies, a crazy group of village leaders being over protective of their town, and 'not' Robots with blue blood for our heroes to do battle with. It is the over the top battle action and our company of 'every man' heroes that really ties these films together.
Taken individually, Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz and World's End are not equal, with Hot Fuzz being the best, and World's End, not so much. Shaun of the Dead took a page out of the Evil Dead series and turned the Zombie genre into a full on comedy, Hot Fuzz is a brilliantly comedic look at the 'Tea Cozy' mystery made popular by the likes of Agatha Christie. But World's End seems to be more like a US 'adult who never grows up' and is unsatisfying.

Went with several friends who hadn't seen the first two movies before and another who didn't realize this was a trilogy. The World's End was a smashing ending to this trilogy and the first two are classics! Hot Fuzz is still one of my all time favorite movies and this was such a killer experience being in the theatre for the marathon.

This was a fun date for myself and my husband. He really liked these movies and I enjoyed but not my favorite type, however "The Worlds End" was great and was better than the other two for me.

I had so much fun watching those three films. The World's End was simply amazing. The comedy was top notch and the action scenes took me by surprise. I hope they do more trilogy like this.
