Broadcast variously on Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning July 7, 1970, the CBC's Dress Rehearsal was essentially a clearing house for pilot episodes of proposed Canadian TV series. The first six episodes were devoted to the children's program Drop-In, which became part of the CBC's weekly lineup in the fall of 1970. Other successful Dress Rehearsal spinoffs included Ooops and Cabbages and Kings.
