Very pleased: felt like action movies of old

This movie was gorgeously filmed in 3D, had an appropriate synth soundtrack and the right amount of shocking gore. It really reminded me of good caliber action movies of the 80s and 90s. Like Drive, this movie had a very old school feel to it even though it takes place in the future. Also, great prediction on the future of surveillance/law enforcement to come. Highly recommend.

tricked by reviews!

The commercials looked sketchy but all the reviews were so good, so we went (paid 28.00!). As originally suspected though, this movie was just So-So - I should have stuck with my original plan and waited for the DVD!! There were no surprises, the plot was stupid and Dredd's voice was dorky. It might have been worth matinee prices, but definitely not the night time 3-D price. Save your money!

Dredd a win movie in 3D

3D definately added to the overall experience of this movie, giving you a sense of presence within the action. Ulrich as Dredd was spot on, and made me long to re-read the comics this is based upon. This was not a one liner fest like the first movie, it was instead, an inteligent portrayal of the characters without the loss of grit or flair. Just know that this is an action film, nothing more, and you will definately get what you paid for. I will own this when it comes out on Blue Ray

Worst two hours I've spent in a cinema

Even 3d can't make this turkey work. Horrifyingly bad script, actors...I even hated the slllllooooowwwwwwww motion CGI. So bad it's actually a total waste of money. They should have donated those $$$ to the poor instead of making this cinematic mistake.

Unapologetic Genre Movie

This is 100% awesome. You're not going to be blown away by lifetime achievement award winning acting, but really, that's not why you're considering seeing this movie anyway. You're coming to see a nigh-unstoppable, morally ambiguous murder machine tear through the drug-addled gang members in a 200 story slummy apartment mega structure. And that is what you will get. In SPADES. How it manages to do this without being cheesy you ask? I'm glad you asked. No irony. No poking fun at how violent it is. No breaking the fourth wall. This movie is smart enough to assume that you're smart enough to know why you came to see it. Also of note: Gravity has the fourth biggest kill count in this movie, and that IS AWESOME. If you even have an inkling that you want to see Dredd, DO IT. Impossible to be disappointed.
