Friday (Jack Webb) and Smith (Ben Alexander) investigate when a young wife and mother (Frances Rafferty) claims that she and her husband had signed a year-long lease for an apartment--only to have landlord Edward Daniels (John Qualen) chase them off the property at gunpoint before they can even move in. At a loss to explain Daniels' bizarre behavior, the two detectives begin poking around the apartment in question, and in so doing they uncover evidence of an arson scheme.
