While on Narcotics detail, Joe (Jack Webb) and Frank (Ben Alexander) takes a coffee break in the small bar where they plan to bust a heroin sale. Instead, the two detectives overhear a loud conversation in the next booth--a conversation that may well end up cracking an unsolved murder case in San Francisco. Bringing suspect Jack Kenton (Stacy Harris) in for interrogation, Friday uses a clever bluff to break down his alibi. Featured in a bit role is Dorothy Towne, the future wife of series star Jack Webb. This episode was based on the Dragnet radio broadcast of December 14, 1952, which featured a young Lee Marvin in the role played on TV by Joel Marston. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi
