Good extrapolation of the Lorax's message

The movie was structured like a Broadway musical. Lively, vibrant animation, catchy songs and dancing, villans, heroes, in the visual spirit of Dr. Suess, but filled in with a storyline that is more relatable and joyful for a broader audience. Our kids enjoyed it and it brought me back to the Lorax's simple message..."UNLESS someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It's not."

The Lorax

Expected it to be like Dr Suess....almost resembled a musical which wasn't pleasant. I went with 5 other adults and 2 children. All the adults agreed it didn't rate although the kids liked it. Look at the NY Times review before going....is more in touch than other reviews.

An updated classic stays true to its roots

My 8 y/o son and I have been looking forward to this movie and were not disappointed. I'm usually wary of reworked classics, but the Lorax was well done. Of course, the message is more relevant than ever. This movie stays true to Seuss' wonderful weirdness and Rube Goldberg-esque contraptions. Betty White was as delightful as I had hoped and Taylor Swift was great, but the real surprise was Zac Efron. I'm not a fan,but he really delivered -Ted was a great character. The villain, Mr. O'Hare, was a bit flat. Rob Riggle does a fine job with the voice, but the character could have been juicier. Maybe it was his striking resemblance to Incredible's captivating and campy Edna Mode that made me want more. The musical number in which the Once-Ler morphs into a corporate robber baron is bitingly incisive, and you can hear him voicing justifications you'd hear in any Wall Street board room. If this movie doens't make you want to go plant a truffula tree, you're a grinch!

My kids LOVED IT

My kids loved this movie, even my 15 year old enjoyed it. I loved the humor but could have done without some of the singing portions. But overall an entertaining movie.
