This movie follows 3 very real stories of how the internet and social media can have a devastating effect on the lives on all of us.

One of the best and most thought provoking movies I have seen in a very long time. Recommend to anyone with teenage children. A must see. I was riveted in my seat when the movie ended, with tears over what I had just experienced.

I just saw "Disconnect" movie with friends. If you have kids, an iPad at home, and Facebook is part of your kids' life, you want to see this movie. It is a powerful commentary of contemporary American life. It rings so genuine to real life, you will easily see yourself in it. If you are a film student or a patron of the arts, you will not want to miss this gem of American cinematography. Artistically, I hunger for movies like this, and I am fortunate if I find one every two years or so. It is rare to find a film where exceptional acting, high technical quality of Hollywood movie studio, and the heart and edge of an independent film script untouched by the movie studio system come together to create in your very gut a reality that is so powerful. Deeply relatable and revealing. [BLOCKED WEBSITE]

Riveting, suspenseful & scared the parental pants off me! Good movie!

I'm not a paranoid person who is afraid to shop online or create an online account in order to post on a blog or access a site's features. I don't think that someone is lurking behind every login screen trying to clone my passwords and ruin my life. I know that my teen is growing up in a different, electronically-oriented world than I did. BUT, this movie scared the pants off me! and made me really stop and think about all havoc that technology is capable of wreaking on our lives. It's not the technology that's evil, but evil-doers now have a bunch of new ways to wreck your life. And unfortunately, this movie mirrors some pretty grim headline's in the news lately, where it's not uncommon to read of a teen who was cyber-bullied to the point of school-wide humiliation or worse. As parents, this movie shines a spotlight on how little you know (or think you know) about your teen's private life. The intertwined stories reminded me of the movie Crash - very well done - go see it

Serious Movie with Messages

Pun intended. 3 separate stories with interrelated characters involving tragedies of the online world (teenage online pornography rings, teen mental abuse, identity theft, online gambling, checking out at the dinner table, and online support groups). It was well-done dramatization of these issues even if at times it was a bit formulaic. I didn't love the ending but perhaps there wasn't a good way to end it (perhaps a closing shot showing some people unplugging their computers or deleting a profile or maybe losing control and logging back in).
