Gripping, Engaging & Makes You Think

Every now and then there's a movie you hope everyone sees - half of them because you want to be able to talk about it and half of them because they need to see it and hear its message. Crash was the last movie that struck that same chord and this movie was clearly inspired by it. With interweaving storylines, each real and well-performed in their own right, this will have you gripping the arm of your chair from beginning to end.

Failure to connect

I could not connect with the characters and it did not feel like the fault of the actors. Most scenes left me wanting more, needing to know more from the characters' backgrounds to empathize and/or sympathize with them. As a result, the emotional climaxes lacked the intended impact. They just fell flat, unfortunately, because this film tried to tackle some major issues.

Riveting, thrilling “Disconnect” is paradigmatic of the twenty-first century’s addiction to cell phones, internet; obsessed with 24/7 connectivity; diners, noncommunicative spheres; emailing, texting, eating, “I tweet, therefore I am”; constant collisions on streets and sidewalks; coffee shops, airports are hotbeds of the colossal mania to Twitter, Skype; Facebook has electrified, energized relationships, correspondence; also piloting the death of introspection. cyber sobriquets. Terrifyingly pathetic; terrifyingly realistic... At times contrived, minimally melodramatic but razor- sharp in portraying individuals whose debilitating quest for constant linkage leads to a disconnected, bifurcated existence... Suspense/Thriller in the vain of "Crash"

I've always had a thing for movies that weave stories into one another and this one did not disappoint. The title and poster for this film are vague and I'm glad its that way. It makes it so you have no idea what you are about to watch but trust me that is a good thing. The cast in this is great and they all play believable characters. The director Henry Alex Rubin's first feature film (non-documentary) is a suspense thrill ride that will have you wondering what is going to happen next. I do highly recommend this film to anyone, especially if you enjoy movies like "Crash".
