The crowd was excited. It was like a reunion party. Seeing the movie on the big screen again was great. Two generations of females from the family went. Saw some with three generations. Sound went out (!) as the movie neared the "Nobody puts Baby in corner" moment of the movie so we almost had a riot but the sound came on in time. Meanwhile the audience spoke and sang and words that we were missing. The 20 minute prequel should have been shown after the movie and NOT BEFORE because it spoiled the special visual moments we were there to see. All the highlights were shown in the prequel. Can't wait until it comes around to theaters again.

When this movie first premiered I was in high school. Every girl wanted to look like Baby and every guy wanted to be as "cool" as Johnny. It is so nice to see that this fantastic movie hasn't been forgotten. I can't count how many times I've watched this movie over the past twenty years but it was still worth the time and money to see it again on the big screen. Some friends and I have even decided to take a trip to Virginia, where the film was shot, to spend a week and enjoy one of their "Dirty Dancing" weekends. This is a definate DON"T MISS!

This is my absolute favorite movie, it has been for years. If for no other reason than the campy guilty pleasure of it, this movie is a classic! It is just filled with corny moments that are sooo bad, they're good! Like Jennifer Grey's naive over-acting, or Max Kellerman's ridiculous lisp, or how Baby's sister Lisa looks exactly like Freddy Mercury, I could go on. The point is this movie captures us, it has for 20 years, because these people seem real. They don't seem like the flawless, airbrushed icons we have today. It is easy to lose yourself in these people's lives because it seems as though they are living right there in front of you. I very proudly dragged my husband to see this in the theater, and it was a blast! Re-releases are great because everyone there really wants to see the movie, it's like watching a movie with a big, big group of friends! The only downside to this presentation was the 20 minute plug for the Dirty Dancing live show that preceded the movie. Very fun!
