Bring tissues. This is a touching story about two friends: one wise kid with a medical issue and an amazing kid who befriends him and makes his last year worth living. A couple of acresses who played very minor roles were not very good, but the main actors were so amazing -- especially young "Lyle Hatcher." Believe it or not, he is not a trained actor but he seems to have been divinely inspired. The music is all original and just sobeautiful and fitting for the story. The first scene is a real edge-of-your-seat scene that keeps you wondering how it ends for half the movie. It is a must see! I highly recommend it for all ages.

This film had all the things I love. It made me laugh, made me cry, made me think, and it stayed with me long after leaving the theatre. I fell in love with the two young stars. It is a great movie for families but definitely great for adults as well. It avoids the Hollywood formulas and provides a window into the world of young boys growing up in the 60s. Highly recommend!!!!
