Overall I liked the movie. In fact, my entire family liked it. The acting was great, the character development, the special effects.... There were two things that proved to be detractors to me, however. Sometimes the images moved too quickly. My eyes could not follow them, and it nearly made me nauseous to watch. But my main beef was the magazine. It was okay to have it in there, but the cover should not have appeared on screen so many times. This movie was rated PG, and the picture on the cover of the magazine was inappropriate for the rating. Maybe if it had been shown briefly one time, and then we see the back of the magazine, or we see the mom holding it, but the mag is only partly in the picture or not at all. Once we've seen it, we know what it is. We don't have to keep seeing it. You know, mom makes the son apologize to women for owning the mag, yet she holds it up for the world to see. It is for that reason that I will not purchase the DVD when it comes out.

Not as good as we expected

My 6-year old daughter rated this a Go, and my 9-year old and 12-year old sons rated it So-So. My husband and I would rate it a No, but if the kids sort of enjoyed it, then that's the main thing. There was some bathroom humor which is always good, and a few other kid laughs, but both my sons said they expected it to be funnier. From an adult's point of view, the storyline was tedious and trite. Overall, rather disappointing, but better than a sharp stick in the eye.

I liked the movie because it was very funny and true to life. I think kids at least 7 years would like it the best.
