Not just a kid movie

I'm an older lady who took an 11-year-old girl to see this movie and we both loved it! I think she identified with the kid who was messing up now and I identified with the kid because of times I messed up but I also identified with the adults. The kid's parents are disappointed when he doesn't use his head; his friend's parents are angry because he has been a bad influence on their son and because he has been illegally using their charge account. I liked the final message of the film, which was that even though the kid messed up at times, that's how you gain experience. His father affirmed that the kid was basically a good kid who just had some growing up to do. It seems that sometimes everyone--children and adults--are so afraid of making mistakes that they are completely immobilized. Let's get out there and make some mistakes, gain some experience, and do better next time!

I really enjoyed the movie. It was very funny. The only disappointment was that it wasn't very much like the book. I really liked the part when the dog grabbed the dinner. It was funny when Greg and his dad watched the family eat it.

Took my grandkids to see the movie. I know when it's not a good movie for a 5 year old when I hear --- "when is this going to be over?" Older brother looks 30 - should be replaced!! My older one though it was ok (13yrs) I've seen them all - first one was the best!!! To be continued...................

I took my kids to see this movie as our last "hoorah" for the summer. It's safe to say that it was a hit with all the age groups ( 8-14 ). Funny, serious, playful, all the ingredients for a great family movie. The acting was great and the script was well done too. I would recommend this movie for families.

My husband and I took our 10 year old son to see this movie and we thoroughly enjoyed it. It was totally appropriate for his age group and it was fun to see how much he enjoyed it. We did too!!
