If you liked the first Despicable Me, you'll like this one.
Despicable Me 2 is more polished than the original. The CGI is noticeably better and the visuals are more complex. The writers incorporated more parent pleasing humor after the popularity of the first movie with adults.
Steve Carell is amazing as Gru. Kristen Wiig provides the perfect comedic companion. The minions get plenty of crowd pleasing screen time.
I did find the movie to slowdown in two spots. This made the movie seem longer than its 1 hour 38 minute run time. All of the kids in the theater seemed entertained through out the entire run time.
While not as ground breaking as the original, Despicable Me 2 is a great summer movie for kids; however, Monster's University would get my nod if you had to chose between it and Despicable Me 2.
There are minion scenes during the credits and nothing after the credits

Love it, minions are so cute! It is definitely for kids and adults! Laughed 80% of the time! Tip - stay after it displayed the crew's name list, show the respect and you get the bonus!

Usually when you go to see sequels of movies you do not expect them to be as good as this part was. I laughed and awwww'ed this movie was amazing. I am glad I took out the time to go see it. Best Sequel ever !!!!!!!!!! Love Agnes and the Mions !!!!!!!!!

My two daughters, ages 10 & 12, appeared to enjoy the film, but was not great. To me, their were times the film moved very slowly. The premiss was weak at best & was very predictable. I did expect more from the 2nd installment of this super cute film.

I do love it when objects fly out into the audience; 3D continues to amaze me. My grandaughter loved it but I agree with another reviewer; I too found it dragging/boring in a couple of spots. There were a bunch of little kids (5 or 6 yrs) and I did hear one crying at the end when the bad guy turned purple and began attacking Gru; might be a little too much for little ones. Overall though, well worth it and a great way to spend a lazy summer afternoon.
