    Dead Man Down

This is a crime drama about revenge and it's repercussions . Colin plays a man with revenge on his mind ; His wife and daughter are murdered and he wants Terrence [a criminal mob boss] to pay . He becomes friends with Dominic [a low-level crook] to get a job to get close to Terrence , so that he can carry out his plan . Then he meets Noomi , a neighbor that was in a car accident with a drunk driver [her face was damaged and she wants revenge on the driver] . Noomi sees Colin doing something illegal and blackmails Colin into handling her problem [if he won't do it , she will call the police on him] .
One of the producers of the movie is the WWE [I have not been keeping up with wrestling but there is a wrestler by the name of Stu Bennett in the movie] .
I liked it and would buy it on DVD .

    Incredible Film

    by

A true classic crime film. A strong character based noir which will make you fall in love with the characters. Easily the best movie of 2013.

I will see this movie again and add it to my collection.

Colin Farrell finally is in an Excellant Movie

I am a big fan of Colin Farrell but as of late he has been doing many remake movies that didn't do great. This movie is a huge step up!! This movie had no real flaws, it was extremely entertaining!! This is a must go!!

    Good story, slow moments

Had some slow dark moments with soft speaking and dark scenery...... welll whenever that happens in a movie zzzzZZZZZZ! woops am I asleep?? LOL! but it was a good story line once I woke up and followed along with what it was all about. I enjoyed it, my husband thought it could have used more action throughout instead of just the beginning and end.

    NOT for children!

    DMD-Go see the movie

Pleasantly dark with enough depth to keep you involved. If you don't want to play, you'll be bored. Farrell and Rapace are good enough to hold you there for the duration. Go see the movie.

    Dead Man Down

I'm a Terrance Howard fan. I was a little disappointed with this picture. The trailers lead me to believe there would be more...SOMETHING! In my opinion, this movie was a little flat. There were some good action scenes towards the end and the leading lady (sorry, didn't catch her name) is CUTE with GREAT legs. Would I recommend this picture to others?? I'd say only if you're a huge fan of any of the actors in the picture, otherwise...EH!!! Although it was good to see Armand Assante again (however briefly), doing his usual role.

    Vengeance

    by

I saw it last night. There's only one main thing I can take from it...revenge. The character driven story was okay. The action scenes were powerful. I was surprised to see a WWE (wrestling) superstar (Wade Barrett) cast in a movie with the likes of Colin Farrell & Terence Howard. Wade did a good job in the film. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would give it a 7 1/2 overall.

    A beautifully done revenge film!!

I had no idea what to expect from this film but I am pleased with the outcome. This film is awkward. . yes perfect awkwardness. There are moments when it's silent and the characters are uncomfortable and you can feel it and understand it and even think, "I'd be like that too in that situation."
Colin is great, he acts so much with is facial expressions and you can literally watch him and know what he is feeling and understand it. He shifts and acts with his body language so perfectly in this film. In one scene he is tough and the next he is soft and all is done with his physical languages. I love it. This film has great action scenes and as loud as they are, they have a quiet beauty to them, they are useful action scenes, not js random action but action that belongs in the frame.
The connections between the characters are well played and very well defined. By the end of this movie you learn who Colin is along with him. He doesn't get himself until her realizes what needs to be done

    Great daytime movie

    by

I really liked this first American effort of the original swedish director of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. It is very confusing at the beginning and you don't really figure out what is going on till about an hour into the movie, but oh the payoff is so worth it. It is not an academy award winning film, but it is great for one of those rainy day movies and should be seen on a big screen.

"Rabbits Don?t Come In Chartreuse:" One Of The Great Movie Lines Of All Time!

"I'll Be Back," "Here's Looking At You Kid," "I'm Ready For My Close-up Mr. DeMille," and now: "Rabbits Don't Come In Chartreuse." This horrible movie is barely dull and that's being nice. Aside the mumbling dialog that drones on and on, there's quite an unsubstantial effort across the board. It's dark and moody but THERE'S A BRIGHT SPOT. Even though it's not a comedy, it's so bad you just can't stop laughing. The rabbit line refers to a comment about a yellow rabbit's foot given for luck and I swear, the very dullness of this film is almost worth experiencing just to hear that line spoken. I actually had to leave the theater because I couldn't stop laughing. It's not meant to be funny and that's really sad, given the millions of dollars and years spent to bring this to the screen, including the efforts of hundreds of artisans, among whom one screenwriter and a least two editors were absent. Godawful would be a compliment here. Skip this. You'll be glad you did.

    Much ado about nothing

I liked the European feel of this movie in general, but there was NO chemistry between the two main characters, and when Colin Farrell leans in to kiss her, I thought to myself: There is no way he would be attracted to her. It made me gag. I am not sure what everybody sees in Noomi Rapace, I found her acting atrocious.

Great movie with a great plot and story line. Colin Farrell just gets better with time. Very rarely do I watch a movie that doesn't get boring in the middle, this one kept me from falling asleep. Colin Farrell rockz!

Slightly More Than a Pretty Face, but not by much

Decent date movie. Ladies will love Colin Ferrel and men will be charmed with Noomi Rapace, who's pretty damn hot despite the scars. It's a complex plot, but not quite so solid. It might've been better served by keeping somescenes that were likely cut. The story felt too forced or a stretch in any normal viewers' imagination. Some great tension in the movie and suspense as it became a fairly nice "reveal." But, some of that momentum was lost and snagged as one is caught thinking more than feeling their way through the movie. It was carried by big names, good looks, sensual energy, and solid action. However, some of these gaps in writing, force fit some ideas that simply eroded the credibility of the story line. It's unfortunate because most were small points of detail that didn't really add much. Instead they detratcted, and apparently squandered some of the real acting talent and opportunities available with such big name stars. Happy I saw it. Would not see it again though.

    Decent but forgettable movie

    by

This is one of the better movies so far this year of the similar genre. I've seen Gangster Squad, Bullet in the Head, and Broken City and they are very bad movies. Dead Man Down was semi-decent. The performances were somewhat forgettable. The movie wasn't as tense as it should have been. But the minor counterplot was a welcome. At least I don't feel like I was wasting my time going to the theater.
