It would have been a better movie if i was watching it at home in my bed. So basically for TV.. As for Watching it on the big screen it wasn't bad, but it wasn't great. Certain parts were good, but the end let me down. hard to rate, because there was good parts and bad parts,

I enjoyed this movie. I liked the realistic family. I liked that it wasn't over the top and I didn't find it predictable at all. Well acted. It has a few jump in your seat parts, but they are brief and the weak hearted can manage them just fine in my opinion. A realistic alien movie ;)

This movie is so slow and I have seen better. In fact X-Files was 10x better than this. I would never see or rent it.

Pleasantly surprised

I wasn't quite sure what to expect and was a bit apprehensive because I do not like horror movies. This, however, was not at all that genre. It's suspenseful with a what's-going-to-happen-next, grab-onto-your-chair feeling. There's a bit of an unexpected twist at the end that later left me with an, "Oh no! What now?" But, that's all part of the suspense. Yes, I was pleasantly surprised and liked this movie. I'll watch it again when it comes out on DVD.

nice scary start to 2013

This is one of those movies that once you watch it, you realize that it easily could have been a 4 hour movie... there were some inconsistency issues, but not enough to take away from the action... it is a "things jump out from nowhere" type scare without the loud sound effect that usually accompanies the scare attempt... and it works really well because the visually scary parts are perfect! I loved the directors ability to always have you suspenseful and on the edge of your seat thinking to yourself "OMG what's about to happen is going to be horrifying, but I can't even fathom what it will be!" Although I don't think that they get you as emotionally involved in the characters as they needed to, they still connected you with them on a human level, which was plenty to keep you involved.... but the overall feel of the movie was that of "if this stuff is true, we really have no control over what they can and cannot do....completely helpless"... 2 thumbs moderately up from me...
