Being 51 I know a world without AIDS. And I had forgotten a lot of this stuff. Excellent cast, directing, and portrayal of reality that everyone needs to see!
Go see it.

This was a great movie. The acting was superb and the subject matter was very meaningful to me. In 1967 I was in the Navy in San Francisco and came in contact with the large Gay community that lived in that city. Many of them suffered great abuse and prejudice, simply for the reason they were gay. This always bothered me. How can you be mean to someone just because they are different. This movie shed light on the difficult problems Aids patients faced at that time in our history. I can't imagine having a very serious medical condition that you can't get treatment for. I am grateful that things have changed for the better.

One has to love Matthew McConaughey for taking on a role where his beautiful body is basically turned to dust. The acting in this movie from everyone is superb and award worthy. Having a brother die from aids I related to this movie, however, did not know all of this information. It was a brave undertaking all the way around and it was done with class and guts.
While I would not tell anyone to see it unless they were deep enough to understand it ,as the sadness is at a depth that most people don't need. It was done so very, very well and deserves awards for walking the plank as the sharks are feeding....
My hat is off to all who are part of this movie... Thank You !!!

I went into this with no idea what to expect. My friend and I had plans to see something else but this was all we could get tickets for. I am so glad we saw this because it was one of the better movies I've seen in a long time.

Matthew was great in this movie. He showed the range of his acting. I am sure there are many heros like Ron whos story needs to be told. Very emotional.
