The kids and I laughed a lot

Sure, it is a little silly with a lot of slapstick type humor, but if you have kids they will really like it. Are we expecting anything else but just some fun at the expense of blowing things up, running over things, and throw up in general. Take it for what it is and you will have a great time.

save your money- rent it if you must

Generally if the second movie doesn't have the original cast, it might be a flop..Daddy Day Camp is a terrific example of this assumption. The movie had a lot of crude humor and questionable language. I took my 7yr old and 11 yr old and they thought it was boring. The story just didn't get going. You are left waiting for the funny and it doesn't ever come. I have never reviewed a movie before, but I feel I must give other parent's a heads up. Spend your movie money on anything else. Wait for the video if you must, just be prepared to remind your children not to repeat the words from the movie. Yikes!!

There is a good reason to take your kids to this one

    by tom3000

OK, this concept has been done and redone, I half expected for them to break in to "It just doesn't matter". All the jokes are old and they do stoop to potty humor and fart jokes and there is virtually nothing here for adults. So why do I recommend it? Well, first of all, this will be new to young kids, so they will enjoy it. But the most important reason is because this movie presents black people as decent, intelligent, charismatic and powerful in a way that your child needs to see with no sermonizing. It doesn't even need to be discussed, just let them have that image. Unlike movies like Hairspray that sermonize and present the issue in a way that does more harm then good, this movie makes no issue about it at all. It just is. Let me jump up on my soapbox. Hollywood shrieks about gun violence yet pictures a gun on every third action DVD cover. They are the first to complain about race relations, yet their movies often fail to show blacks positively. This one does.

    Daddy Day Camp

Funny and comical. A must see movie that the kids would like. My son loved it. Similar to Daddy Day Care without Eddie Murphy. Just as good.

    Clean Family Fun

    by jenn37

This movie did not get good ratings which after seeing I thought was ashame. For adults it was probaly predictable for most, for kids it teaches good lessons in life with clean humor. Good family weekend night out!

    DADDY DAY CAMP

    by MANS

DADDY DAY CAMP WAS A FUNNY MOVIE WITH A STORY LINE. WALKING INTO THIS MOVIE I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE A DUD BUT I WAS WRONG IT WASNT A DUD AT ALL. IT HAD A DIFFERENT TASTE OF EVERYTHING LIKE COMEDY AND A LITTLE DAP OF DRAMA. THE CRITICS ARE SOOOOOOO WRONG ABOUT THIS MOVIE AND THE ONLY PROBLEM IS I THINK CRITICS LIKE COMEDY MOVIES THAT ARE RATED R. IF YOU ARE BORED AT HOME DOING SOMETHING YOU HATE THEN GET OUT OF THE HOUSE AND GO TO THE MOVIE THEATER TO SEE DADDY DAY CAMP.

    Daddy Who Cares

One of the worst movies I've ever seen. Actors dialed in their roles. Direction consisted of "bigger, bigger, louder, louder." No story line. Predictable. Lacking any of the subltle or gentle moments of the first movie. Only went because my kids wanted to go, and they didn't even think it was all that good. My 10 year old said his "eyes almost burned out." Not sure what that means, but doesn't sound good. My favorite parts of the movie were leaving for popcorn refills on several occassions. Only the second movie I didn't stay through the credits for in my whole life. Avoid at all costs. Less a comedy and more a horrible train wreck.

    great message

Wonderful movie for the whole family that focuses on relationships, doing what is right and taking responsible risks. I loved it, sodid the kids.

    Daddy Day Camp

Don't waste your time and money. Worse than the first film, Daddy Day Care, this one has a mean streak, starting with the character of the opposing camp leader. I was bored. Three people actually walked out. Cuba Gooding must need the money; his standards must have dropped; he can do better than this.
