There is a good reason to take your kids to this one
OK, this concept has been done and redone, I half expected for them to break in to "It just doesn't matter". All the jokes are old and they do stoop to potty humor and fart jokes and there is virtually nothing here for adults. So why do I recommend it? Well, first of all, this will be new to young kids, so they will enjoy it. But the most important reason is because this movie presents black people as decent, intelligent, charismatic and powerful in a way that your child needs to see with no sermonizing. It doesn't even need to be discussed, just let them have that image. Unlike movies like Hairspray that sermonize and present the issue in a way that does more harm then good, this movie makes no issue about it at all. It just is. Let me jump up on my soapbox. Hollywood shrieks about gun violence yet pictures a gun on every third action DVD cover. They are the first to complain about race relations, yet their movies often fail to show blacks positively. This one does.
