So Pretty, so confusing
I love aesthetically pleasing movies. Silk brocade, ornate armor, elaborate hair, all of this and more is in Curse of the Golden Flower. It takes place in the Royal Palace during the Tang Dynasty. Court intrigue, romance, and power struggles are the main themes. There is very little action, when compared to most movies starring Chow Yun-Fat. Also, the flow of the movie is very complicated and slightly repetitive. The fatal flaw in this movie was its ending. It made very little sense, and seemed incredibly incomplete. Overall if you LOVE hair, makeup, and clothes in movies: GO. If you need coherency and reason, stay home.
