Shows the Individual Battle of Faith and Logic
by
I really loved this movie and wish that the religious beliefs of most people in my area wouldn't have prevented it from hitting theatres where I live. I think that many people, before making a rude judgement of this movie's content, should see what it is really about. It is not a movie against religion nor is it a full support for evolution. It is merely the story of the struggles Charles Darwin faced within himself as he wrote The Origin of the Species.
I think there are a lot of misconceptions about who Darwin was and what his intentions were while writing his books. He never said that we evolved from monkeys nor was he an athiest. This movie shows that he was a Christian but slowly lost his faith as hardships prevailed.
I think this film would be great for young adults and adults who could grasp the meaning of this movie. It is unbiased and does not promote evolutionary theory, yet it briefly introduces it. The cast did a great job and the cinematography was great as well.
