  "Conviction"--An Oscar-worthy Film

  "Conviction" is the best movie I've seen this year. It's been quite some time since I've watched such a quality film as this. Hilary Swank, Minnie Driver, and Juliette Lewis were at their very best. Sam Rockwell was absolutely brilliant. This movie is superbly directed and very well written. It is a movie that is appropriate for most age groups. I will definitely see this movie again, and will certainly make it a part of my collection upon DVD release. I see many Oscar nominations.

  Conviction

  This is a "must-see." Hilary Swank is truly one of the great actresses of our time. Kudos to Sam Rockwell and Juliette Lewis, and Minnie Driver who deserves a best supporting actress nomination. She was superb and her ability to always effect an American accent so perfectly, in this case with a Massachuetts cadence is outstanding. Great direction by Tony Goldwyn (although this ability is in his genes and he makes good use of it). A profound story - and a riveting movie. It is always so sad to see how many innocent people are wrongly accused and sentenced to prison. I have rarely been in the theater where the audience was so quiet.

  Powerful true story that is unbelievable -- just the lengths that a sister would do to clear her brother's name

  By the end of this movie, I think it is rather impossible to not be moved by the sheer strength and relentlessness of Betty, played with greatness by Hilary Swank. Its a sad story but an against all odds story. You won't know if he is innocent or not until near the end. Could have gone further to add more tear jerking scenes but very powerful.

  An Interesting & Inspiring Film

  Definitely go see this movie based on a true story.. The creators did a good job genuinely portraying an incredible woman's determination to prove her brothers innocence. She spent 18 years fighting for her brother. During that time she managages to tirelessly pursue a law degree while facing hurdles when it came to spending time with her children Hillary Swank's played her role well.
  
  This is just one of those films that confirms the belief that with hard work and determination, the impossible can become possible.

  Extraordinary!

  The human drama is played out in full force with this stellar cast. Hillary Swank Juillette Lewis, Sam Rockwell to name a few. Oh, and I predict a best supporting nod for Juillette Lewis. She doesn't have alot of screen time but when she's on, you can't ignore her. Also, Sam Rockwell and Hillary Swank are AMAZING! You feel the dispair and experience this whole story as it unfolds. The Academy loves a true life story, and this actually happened to these people.

  Tear Jerker

  Even though you know what's going to happen in this movie, you are still suckered in by the strong performances. After all nobody plays "trailer-park" better than Swank and Juliette Lewis. Swank plays the good sister with the heart of gold and of course Lewis plays the trashy girlfriend.The only unbelievable casting is pretty-boy Peter Gallagher as lawyer Barry Scheck. Oh well it's Hollywood after all ! That said,the story has a nice build-up explaining the siblings tough upbring and their very close relationship along with the politics in their small town that led to the brother's conviction. There is a nice twist at the end which almost stops his release, which rings true in this anti-crime era.This is a GO for me,but you could wait for the DVD since this movie is in limited release.
